Station Grounding Test

Insulation Resistance

The insulation resistance test is a direct current evaluation test of the insulation and gives a reliable indication of the presence of moisture, contamination, or breakdown in the insulation. This test also establishes a benchmark for future comparative tests.

On-Line Fault Location

A truly unique WESTCON test procedure.  Identify and locate ground faults, residual currents, potential insulation failures without loss of power and operation.  Built for ungrounded and grounded AC systems, this testing procedure can be used to locate faults within the DC realm as well

Grounding Resistance Test

Over time, corrosive soils with high moisture content, high salt content, and high temperatures can degrade ground rods and their connections.  So even if the ground system had low earth ground resistance values  when initially installed, constant wear and changes in environment can increase grounding resistance if the grounding system is compromised.  It is highly recommended that all grounds and ground connections are checked at least annually as part of a facility’s preventive maintenance plan.
